* Moonrise Queendom* 2013 CFM Holiday card. 18 x 24. Acrylic on canvas. Commission piece. The last painting I did before Dan and I set sail to Asia. I really wanted to captire the pastel tones of Colorado winter in this piece, and the serenity of a forest and trickling river draped in snow.

Eldorado Canyon- 18 x 22. Acrylic on canvas. Commissioned piece. 2013. Painted for another great friend's baby nursery. One of my favorite landscapes to date.

* Love at Fisher Towers * 2013. Acrylic on wood. A wedding gift for my best friend and her husband. "Forever Young" seemed like the absolute perfect song to quote for these two.

Commissioned signs for Mountain Sun and Southern Sun Pubs and Breweries in Boulder. Acrylic on paper- 2013. Loved doing this. First time painting on paper and it was great for doing the blending of the nebula. The lettering was pretty intensive as well, as I am a perfectionist. I love these pubs, and it was symbolic for me as I was leaving Boulder to have my work at a place I frequented often over the last ten years and have many memories at.

Commissioned piece. 2013. For a baby nursery. A medium told this mother her child's spirit animal was a dolphin, so I made this. So cute.

2012 CFM Holiday Card. Commissioned piece. 16 x 20. Acrylic on canvas. Mile High City- my home, sweet home.

Detail of 2012 CFM Holiday card.

Notorious P.U.G- a Christmas gift. Something so sweet about painting peoples pets.

A gifted piece for my cousin. Painted on reclaimed wood. 2012. Acrylic. Emerson quote.

*Unofficial* SCI Horning's Hideout poster. 11 x 17. 2012. Acrylic on canvas. Horning's is in Oregon in the forest and is magical. They have wild peacocks you hear chirping in the morning. I wanted to make something more earthy for this.  If you ever have the change to go there, do. It's wonderful.

Moon Owl- Miniature Painting. 2012. First time painting on wood.

Colorado's Utopia. 2012. 30 x 24. Acrylic and mica paint on canvas. Commissioned piece.
PRINTS AVAILABLE

"Star Monocerotis" Commissioned piece. 2012. 12 x 12. Acrylic on canvas.
Commissioned piece for CFM Company's 2011 holiday card. 16 x 20. Acrylic on canvas. Prints available!
I like the simplicity of this. My paintings tend to have more going on than this, but I think it provides a serene, peaceful vibe.

"Libra Nebula" 10 x 10. 2011. Acrylic on canvas. Auctioned for Hike4Cancer.

"LOVE" Wildflowers collected, arranged and photographed on vintage fabrics. 2011. Photographs then individually framed. AVAILABLE: Please see September blog post for purchase.
"Scarub Nebula" 2011.  Acrylic on canvas. SOLD. Prints available. Painted for the Shakeout event on Rockaway Beach in NYC. My wildest star nebula yet- a sparkling, galactic oil spill. The liberty and space I felt when I painted this was beyond therapeutic- tapped into the infinite flow- thinking, if only I could paint this freely with every piece. Loosening up- layering multiple colors- letting that red and green tango and mix...having at the canvas without restraint and letting the image manifest itself. This yearning for a more laissez faire existence is always a common thread in my life... the constant plight of the Leo lioness who always feels somewhat caged. Trying to draw more of this into my art, work and life in general.
"Roadrunner in the San Juans" 2011- Commissioned piece. Acrylic on canvas. Oh to get a big commission- both awesome and scary. This piece was the largest I've done, and the heat was on! Never knowing how the painting will be received, you're forced to drop in and rely on that inner confidence that it's going to turn out great. Wanting every element to shine, I labored long and hard on this baby. I love painting mountains and it feels as if each new version I do is getting better and deeper. I'm becoming versed in combining multiple colors and shades- pink mountains with green and gold shading, red rock formations with grays, white clouds with flesh toned highlights. Realizing that the more color variation, the better the texture and depth. Another lesson on the road of being a self taught painter. And in the end..... they loved it! Such an amazing feeling.
"Dance of the Universe" 2011. Acrylic on canvas. NFS. Studio piece for the Universe Show at Theory and Practice. Prints available upon request. My first piece of 2011 and undeniably my personal favorite. The movement, the color, the message. Once again the theme surfaces of all matter being of identical composition, leaf to hummingbird to nebula. The sun, the moon and the earth nestled into three blossoming lotus flowers. Hummingbirds dancing around the rising galaxy, yearning to drink its infinite, sparkling nectar. Hours were spent layering color and shape in the background and I was smitten from first stroke. The magic of the creation process: the salmon colored lines in the background were executed long before the birds were, amazingly lining up, or creating, their flight patterns...all without intention. Hung this piece on my wall and there it was! Painted during a month long detox of sorts, the clarity and mental peace I was experiencing at that time definitely shines through.

"A Little of that Hillbilly Blood" 2010. SOLD. Acrylic on canvas. Used as HBR's Summer 2010 poster. When I look back on this now it feels astonishingly simple- the mountains in particular. It hits me how much my painting skills have progressed and developed. Nonetheless, it was fun seeing this for sale at shows all last summer. Concert posters are something I'm hoping to do more of. I'd like to do three additional pieces to make this a set- a banjo, a fiddle, and a guitar- in the three remaining seasons of the year. Perhaps a banjo in an autumn scene next. This painting was inspired by my father- who passed down to me a love of music, bluegrass in particular. Summer trips to Telluride Bluegrass fest definitely infiltrated this piece. One day- the Telluride poster will be mine!! That bluegrass resonates because we got a lil' bit of that hillbilly blood...

"Higher Ground: Raise the Vibration" 2010~ Acrylic on canvas. SOLD. Contact for prints. I painted this piece in a little over a week as a final installment for my first art showing at my aunt's beautiful space, Good Girl Art Gallery. Most of it I finished the evening beforehand. What happened in lieu of time and sleep was pretty incredible. Normally putting in meticulous amounts of attention on the tiniest details, I was forced to paint fiercely and without abandon, creating a looseness, fluidity and layering of color I hadn't yet allowed to come forward. I can truly say I became a different painter after this experience, letting my work take on a freer form and less perfectionism.

"Tropicalia" 2010- Acrylic on canvas. Studio piece. SOLD. Contact for prints. Spent extensive time on this one and it's a favorite. Oddly enough, I have never sold a single print of this. Maybe it's the layout, maybe its the "buggyness" of it, as my dad said, but people don't seem to choose it over the others. Feels as if the butterflies and Japanese beetles are flying toward/gazing into a window of paradise. I think this is one of the first times I started to paint animals/insects 3D instead of 1D flat on the canvas. Learning, poca a poco....
"Aeracura's Garden" 2010~ Acrylic on canvas. SOLD. Started live at Eliot Lipp then finished in studio. Contact for prints. Went wild with the background on this piece. Another lesson in layering- both colors and designs. A vibrant explosion of springtime- I feel this was a balanced conglomerate of realism and my old drawing style. A tie dye sky of Fibonacci flowers.

"Ancient Serenity" 2009~ Acrylic on canvas. SOLD. Painted live with Keller Williams and finished in studio. Contact for prints. Another old piece. Jellyfish: peaceful, mysterious, swaying gently through the water. Some theorize the people of Atlantis turned into jellies when they vanished- what a magical notion. I have a feeling this won't be the first time I paint jellyfish. Developing the underwater flora and fauna was electrifying. It's amazing how the ocean floor glows with color when photographed...I tried to capture that with my paints. They go pretty wild for this one in the String Cheese parking lots.

"Centre of the World: Afrika!" 2009~ Acrylic and paint pen on canvas. SOLD. Painted live with Albino! with studio finishing. Contact for prints. I love Fela Kuti. I love Albino!. I love painting to afrobeat. Simple, bright, a conglomerate of realism and abstract "doodling."

"Galactic Growth" 2009~ Acrylic on canvas. Painted live with Head for the Hills, Drew Emmitt and EOTO . Finished in studio. SOLD. 11x 17 prints available. My second painting- and one of my all time favorites- I set out to convey the oneness of being- that the same organic matter comprises everything from the tiniest flower to the largest cosmo. Leaving behind the Age of Aquarius, we are. The galactic chaos of this scene, and the way the flowers and planets dance and jump out, draws the eye to study and search. Reflective of the music it was manifested to, a synthesis of bluegrass and electronic. My love of painting nebulae and galaxies was birthed here.
